Cody grew up in Tasmania where he began his Law and Commerce combined degree. Cody was employed by a large accounting firm in Tasmania and although offered a full time position there while completing his studies, he decided that it was the Law that held his interest. Cody was told throughout his childhood that he “should be a lawyer.” He’s sure it has nothing to do with his propensity for a good argument!

 

At the age of 20, Cody made the move to the sunny Gold Coast after graduating from his Commerce Degree at the University of Tasmania.

Cody graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Griffith University in 2008. He began work in a Family and Injury firm on the Gold Coast and was admitted in 2009 to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. At the mid-sized firm where he worked on Gold Coast he had extensive training in Family, Injury and Criminal Law and has since gone on to specialise in these Matters.

Cody is now the Principal of Beck Law and leads a team of 11 staff after starting the firm in 2018 it quickly grew into an Australia wide service that has him flying from Cairns to Melbourne and over to Perth frequently. The firm was rebranded in mid 2021 when he purchased office space across the road from the beach in beautiful Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.

Cody enjoys appearing in Court and loves to be able to mount an argument for his clients before a Judge. He has appeared in Courts all over Australia and prior to Covid found himself appearing in Courts all over Australia 3 to 4 days each week.

Cody is well versed in all Family Law Matters, including Binding Financial Agreements, Children Matters, Property Settlement Matters and Domestic Violence proceedings. Cody’s Criminal work includes Traffic Matters, Work Licence Matters, serious Criminal charges in Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts along with Bail Applications and Minor Matters.
